About the teachers:
James discovered improv in 2013, and soon fell in love with both the art form and the comedy. He trained with the Improv Conspiracy Melbourne, and upon returning to NZ , James met local Improviser Clare Kerrison, and co-founded BaseJump Improv to bring this exciting style of improv comedy to Wellington. He is the current Artistic Director as well as teaching, producing and performing. In his spare time, you’ll find him in the kitchen toiling over a mean spag bol, or dabbling with the world of sketch comedy.
Cailin started improvising in 2014 with Monkey Toast in London. She first started as a way to get over her shyness, but immediately fell in love with it, joining a number of Harold and Armando teams, before performing with her team Geraldine at the Edinburgh festival in 2017. She loves dry humour, can keep a straight face for days and believes great improv comedy comes from specificity, like when your character loves guacamole, but hates avocado!
”Three words.. organic, joyful and invigorating!” Duncan
”Basejump improv’s foundation course is a brilliant way to learn something new, get out of your comfort zone and have loads of fun all at the same time. You’re quickly immersed in a supportive and talented community to help you along the way.” Olivia
